Welcome to Puerto Vallarta
& Bucerias, La Cruz
Puerto Vallarta
is located on the west coast of Mexico, in the middle of the Bay of
Banderas, the largest bay in Mexico. The Bay of Banderas is shaped as a horseshoe. This along with the protection from the Sierra Madre gives greater Puerto Vallarta
& Bucerias bay the wonderful tropical weather year
round. PV is tropical, humid, with an average of 300 sunny days per year.
Puerto Vallarta is in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, south of the airport. Bucerias is in the neighboring state of
Nayarit. Mexico, north of the airport.
Vista Vallarta Golf Course
Puerto Vallarta is rapidly being recognized as the premier golf destination.
One of the largest ones is The Vista Vallarta complex. It is a Jack Nicklaus signature course. It is just 10 minutes from the airport. It is a 36-hole course which also hosts a premier Tom Weiskopf course.
Bucerias is only 20 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta on Mexico’s pacific gold coast
alongside miles of quiet beaches. It is quieter, and less crowded than
PV. If you are seeking a get-away away from the bustle of tourists yet amidst the romance and warmth of Mexico,
then Bucerias is for you. Enjoy the allure of beaches in a protected bay of dolphins and whales, the quaintness of a small village, and the blend of old-world
tradition and charm.
Live with all the modern comforts, while enjoying the lifestyle you have been
dreaming of. The area is home to tropical vegetation and wildlife,
local cultural traditions, restaurants and boutiques, and offers an abundance
of sports and recreational activities: from golfing and parasailing, boating
and swimming to scuba diving, snorkeling, and horseback riding along the beach at sunset.
Bucerias is the largest pueblo(town) with a population of around 5,000 and the longest beach on Banderas
Bay. You'll enjoy the old-fashioned festive feel, particularly in the evenings around the lively
market, with small shops and local-style open air restaurants run parallel to the 5 mile beach for about two miles.
Yet, it is close to PV's local attractions.
Bucerias means the place of the scuba diver, and, sometimes windy, its shallow waters and golden sand are particularly inviting to
boogieboarders, waders, and shell collectors.
Other other beautiful locations include such as La Cruz, Punta de Mita,
Sayulita,
San Francisco, Rincon de Guayabitos, and much more.
La
Cruz de Huanacaxtle is a small fisherman village twenty minutes
north of Puerto Vallarta´s international airport on the Bay de Banderas
coast. Throughout the year, fishermen leave this small inlet to catch many
marine species including dorado (mahi-mahi), red snapper, sawfish,
sailfish, tuna and marlin. The tranquil waters of
the cove offer a natural shelter to many sailboats during the winter.
La Cruz offers a cool beach climate all year-round, the area is widely
known as one with the largest biodiversity ecosystems. Gray Whales arrive
in Bay of Banderas every year at the beginning of the winter, it is also a
natural sanctuary for marine turtles. A wide variety of Eco-tours and
activities, like golfing, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, bird
watching, fishing, horse-back riding, canopy, are available in the area.
